BORN IN FLACHT | 935 Revealed at Rennsport VI
The brand known for some of the most amazing track and street cars in the world has released a one-off dream based on the 911 GT2 RS high-performance sports car. The 935 celebrates 40 years since the making of the classic 1978 Le Mans racing car, nicknamed "Moby Dick" because of its elongated shape, huge fairings, and stark white body color.
Frank-Steffen Walliser, Porsche vice-president for motorsport and GT cars, is calling it “a birthday present from Porsche Motorsport to fans all over the world.”
The new 935 brings together design touches from some of the most well-known Porsche racers throughout the brand's history in motorsport. In addition to the overall Moby Dick look, this limited edition 935 will include LED lights on the wing like those in the 919 Hybrid LMP1 race car, side mirrors from the current Le Mans-winning 911 RSR, and exposed titanium tailpipes modeled on the Porsche 908 from 1968. Plus, the 3.8-liter V6 twin-turbo engine matches the same incredible powerhouse in the modern 911 GT2 RS.
The non-street legal race car was revealed at the Rennsport Reunion VI at Laguna Seca in California this past September and added to the excitement of the events!
There will be a total of 77 units available worldwide and interested parties should contact Porsche Motorsport at 935@porsche.de
